New Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
Since a young age, Leandra Craft has recognized the inequities in social systems and was inspired to help improve these systems for the community. Leandra attended Santa Clara University and received her Bachelor's in Political Science. She returned home to attend law school at Seattle University. Leandra is a Deputy Prosecutor for King County and focuses her work on alternatives to incarceration and prosecuting Hate Crimes.
Since being appointed to Federal Way City Council, Leandra has focused on being a voice for underserved communities. Her major priorities are community safety, housing affordability, economic development, and recovery. She has experience in working in government systems and hopes to address these interwoven concerns by advocating for more resources, services and alternative programs to the community.
Leandra was appointed to the Federal Way City Council in October 2020 and is running to retain her seat. Leandra is married to her high school sweetheart, Chris, and they have a daughter named Amaya.
